TIL that Nestle earned the nickname “baby killer” in the mid 1970s after a bad marketing ploy killed many children in Africa.
via reddit.comtheir “marketing ploy” involved convincing mothers formula was better than breast milk in all cases, which lead to babies being fed contaminated formula made with contaminated water, which lead to thousands of deaths. So nestle does still very much have that blood on their hands. ot to mention they’ve been trying to convince the world to let them do it again. They really don’t have a problem killing actual children, newborn babies, to boost sales, let that sink in a second.
