The Haunting Beauty of NGC 3190 —A Deadly Supernova Factory
—
This magnificent galaxy inspires us, again, to ask: does advanced life exist there? The fact that we have no proof of intelligent life elsewhere in the universe may simply mean that intelligent civilizations have all too finite lifetimes. NGC 3190 is a spiral galaxy of unbearable beauty in the constellation Leo. It was discovered by William Herschel in 1784. In 2002, astronomers uncovered one supernova in March in the southeastern part and then another team uncovered a second supernova on the other side two months later -sure destroyers of vicinity-based life.
The spectacular image below is the “Trio in Leo.” There is actually a fourth member of this group which not shown- but the group also goes by another catalogued name of “Hickson 44.” These galaxies are estimated to be 60 million light years away. The galaxy furthest to the left is an elliptical galaxy (NGC 3193) and is fairly devoid of detail. The top center of the image features NGC 3190.

The saying ‘you are what you eat’ is true for these insects as stunning pictures show their abdomens changing colour as they sip on sugar drops.Mohamed Babu set up the photographs after his wife showed him some ants had turned white after drinking spilt milk. He gave the creatures the brightly coloured sugar drops and watched as their transparent stomachs matched the food they were eating.

The World Famous Museum of Death was founded in San Diego June 1, 1995. Originally located in San Diego's 1st mortuary's in a building once owned by Wyatt Earp. Evolving from the controversial art gallery the Rita Dean, founders James Healy and Cathee Shultz realized the void in the Death education in this country and decided to make Death their Life's work.
Recently reopened at it's NEW location the Museum of Death houses the worlds largest collection of Serial Murderer Artwork, Photos of the Charles Manson Crime Scenes, the Guillotined Severed Head of the Blue Beard of Paris, Henri Landru, Original Crime Scene and Morgue Photos from the Grisly BLACK DAHLIA MURDERS, a Body Bag and Coffin collection, replicas of Full Size Execution Devices, Mortician and Autopsy Instruments, Pet Death Taxidermy, and much much more!
Also on display are videos of autopsies and serial killers, the Heaven's Gate Cult recruiting video, and the infamous Traces (not faces) of Death video, all real (not re-enacted) Death footage.
The Museum of Death is a self guided tour, lasting approximately 45 minutes to an hour, but those who can stomach it stay as long as they like, the movies run for hours.
There is not an age limit for for the Museum of Death because WE ALL DIE but we STRONGLY recommend MATURE AUDIENCES !! There have been a number of Falling Down Ovations (people passing out) at the Museum (mostly Men) so we stress being prepared for a good dose of reality!
Next door to the Museum of Death is the CHAOS GALLERY. A unique art gallery featuring local and international artists focusing on the provocative. Included art jewelry, paintings, drawings, sculptures, and installation artwork. A MUST SEE for out of town visitors! Guests can also view the LIVE SIAMESE TURTLE for a nominal fee, and by purchasing a ticket to the Museum of Death, guests can view the famous turtle at No Charge!
The museum is also available for filming/renta . com

This was by all accounts entertaining, but not good enough to really evoke my better adjectives. A series of short stories that intertwine, it was mostly funny. The dialog was too fast and articulate to be believable and the performances were over-dramatized at times, making you feel like you were watching a stage play instead of a movie. There were brief moments of brilliance, but they were few and far between. According to this poster, it was the first major motion picture made for the Internet; I did not know that.

Virtually There
For his Google project, Andreas Rutkauskus composed images of the Rockies in Google Earth and then hiked the actual Rockies with his large format camera to capture those same images in real life.
Distinguishing between real and virtual landscapes isn't as simple as you might think. The best clue? The unlikely cloudless skies of Google Earth are the give away.
