As I reach my twilight years as a music writer I’m attempting to cram in more interviews. Case in point, I drunkenly spoke to a dazzling mop top teenage singer songwriter whose angelic tones had wowed me at a gig last week; he’d played a homely underrated music venue in the fine city of Norwich. Unfortunately I was drunk, and preoccupied with the fact that the woman I was on a date with that night had gone walkabout. So when it came to doing an on the spot interview, I proposed the idea of an interview feature to him, gleefully he accepted this offer, I then forgot to ask him his name, and asked him a few generic questions about influences and such like. The next morning it dawned on me that I had neglected to record any of what he said.

Off the back of my fawning review of Hooded Fang’s Gravez (here) I was offered a chance to interview Daniel and April from the band. Thinking ‘Boy, I enjoyed Gravez it would be nice to learn more about the people who recorded such a fine album’, I cleared my early evening Friday schedule, which would usually consist of eating greasy food to settle my stomach before a night of debauchery, and logged on to Skype.

The following is a transcript of a recorded interview that took place a little after 6PM…

April: Hello?
Me: Hello, can you hear me ok?

A: Hi, yeah can you… Daniel… sorry, so our friend just… we’re in a coffee shop and our friend just walked in with the craziest haircut…

Me: *laughs half-heartedly*
