That is a weight in zero gravity. as it rotates it builds up a Kinetic energy field and that becomes charged then it appears to flip or change. It would make sense the Earth does the same. Although I hope not drastic enough to flip the entire planet over.
The Earths poles have shifted before. You can see in seashells. In the N hemisphere seashells twist clockwise and in the S hemisphere counterclockwise. If you dig way way down you will find seashells with different twists and you can tell if that area was in the N or S hemispheres by their twist at the time you date the shells to.

Siberia, where the N pole is wandering to is opposite the weird S pole anomaly. I’m fairly certain more than enough tech exists to “pull” a magnetic pole in a direction you want it to go in.
