the Chand Baori is a stepwell in the Indian village of Abhaneri, constructed around 800 AD. at the bottom of the structure, the air is around five to six degrees cooler than the often arid and sweltering temperatures of the region. it was used as a gathering place for locals during periods of intense heat.
