darkness-peering:
The Seven Gates of Hell
There are many stories about the gates to hell. Some say that all of the seven gates can be found in a wooded area of Hellam Township, Pennsylvania, and if you go through all of the gates, you will go straight to hell. Supposedly, a mental institution burned down in those woods in the 1800s, and all the patients died. The only thing that remained was the gate. In some versions of the myth, it is said that the gate disappears once you enter it, and then appears in a new place. This will happen seven times until you are finally in hell.
Other versions say that there is one gate placed of each of the seven continents: North and South America, Africa, Europa, Asia, Australia and Antarctica.
Here are the supposed locations for each gate:
Africa: In Egypt, under the the left paw of the Sphinx. It is also known as the gate to the underworld.
Asia: Near the Temple Mount in Israel. It is known as Satan’s front door. Some say that the gate was originally placed in Rome, but was moved to the Holy Land after it became a state in 1948. It took 2000 legions of demons and devils to move the gate, since it is the most powerful one.
Europe: The famous Cimetière du Père-Lachaise is the cemetery where the European gate is believed to be. This is the gate all politicians and heads of states must go through to be judged by the Devil before God.
South America: Not much is known about this gate, but it is thought to be in Rio, near the large statue of Jesus Christ.
North America: Near the tomb of the voodoo practitioner, Marie Laveau in Illinois. Some also believe that all the gates to hell are placed in Illinois.
Antarctica: Directly at the south pole.
Australia: Rookwood Cemetery, Greater Sydney.
Though these are the most popular locations for each gate, there are many people who will tell you differently. No one knows for sure where they exactly are. Some say that there are 13 gates, and that God sometimes uses them to get quick access to hell. Some people also believe that all the gates are in Pennsylvania. But who knows? They could be anywhere.

"Drunk at the matinee" is a collection of candid poetry about stupid shit that we all experience from day to day.
