Two 16 year old students from St. Kentigern’s College in Auckland, NZ have been injured during a school production of the 1979 musical thriller “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street ”.
Both boys suffered cuts to the neck during a “throat-slitting” scene when a “prop” which turned out to be a real razorblade covered in duct tape and paper was used. One boy sustained serious injuries while the other’s were described as moderate - both boys are said to be in a stable condition and will be discharged from hospital today.
Sweeney Todd the musical is based on the 1973 play Sweeney Todd, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street by Christopher Bond. It tells the story of a barber from London who kills his clients by slitting their throats before turning their flesh into a filling for meat pies sold by Mrs. Lovett - the owner of the store underneath the barbershop.

"Drunk at the matinee" is a collection of candid poetry about stupid shit that we all experience from day to day.
