Fidelity, Bravery, Integrity

An FBI agent, wearing only a pair of swim trunks, per the hijacker’s instructions, carries a case containing a $1 million ransom to the opened door of a hijacked Delta DC8 jet in Miami.
On July 31, 1972, George Wright, who was found guilty of murder, escaped from prison and hijacked a Delta Air Lines flight with a number of accomplices. He was dressed as a priest and smuggled a handgun aboard the flight in a hollowed-out Bible.

After negotiations, Wright agreed to let 86 hostages ago, if FBI agents (dressed only in bathing suits) would give him $1 million. They then ordered the plane to fly to Algiers, where they sought political asylum.

George Wright was taken into custody in Portugal on September 26, 2011.
