At the time of his arrest, Lee Harvey Oswald had a fake selective service card. While it bore his picture, it included a phony name - Alek James Hidell. Both the Mannlicher-Carcano rifle, and the Smith and Wesson .38 revolver, were sold to a man named “A. Hidell.” When Oswald was asked if he ever used that name or if he knew anybody with that name he said ‘’No’’ . He was asked ‘’Then how do you explain your picture ID with A.Hidell on it?’’ to which he cut it off with ‘’I don’t.’’
