congenitaldisease:When salt is poured onto fresh frog legs, the muscles begin to twitch, giving them the appearance of still being alive. The reason this occurs is because the cells inside the legs are still intact. The sodium ion present in the salt acts as a signal from the brain, causing the muscle to contract and relax.
