5) Are you terrified at the thought of reading your work in public—totally sober?
not at all. unlike some people who really seem to enjoy reading their stuff, i'm not a big fan of reading. there's a bit of an adrenaline rush, sure, but i find it really hard to read how i want to and i never look forward to it or think i've done my stuff justice. other people might disagree and look forward to hearing me but really for me personally, it's a bit of an ordeal. i know everyone gets a bit nervous but i actually shake like i got palsy and i find that very disconcerting. have i read sober? yea, a few times. on other occasions, i'll read after a few drinks cos after all, poetry readings/slams are generally social events. i don't mind reading to small groups of friends at parties or whatever but once there's a mic and a large expectant audience, i get so fucking nervous.
